I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.
Hanging above Longacre's Gunsmith and Locksmith Shop on Chestnut Street, Abilene, TX, is an old, re-purposed shop sign. Longacre's name has faded in teh strong West Texas Sun revealing the vintage sign's former life advertising Underwood's Pit Bar-B-Q. My heart skipped a beat when I spotted the venerable old sign. I love Underwood's BBQ; I do not pass through Brownwood, TX, without stopping for some succulent Bar-B-Q beef. I knew Underwood's once served its smoked delicacies in Abilene, along with locations stretching from Fort Worth to Albuquerque, NM, and from Brownwood to Wichita Falls. I thought I found Underwood's old Abilene location. Jimmy Underwood opened two locations in Abilene--neither on Chestnut Street where the sign now hangs. It appears Longacre's recycled the BBQ leftover, and time has slowly revealed the sign's past life in the BBQ business.
