Description
Taos Pueblo in northern New Mexico is known for its multistoried adobe dwellings and blue doors. For protection, lower level homes were traditionally accessed through holes in the roof rather than doors; ladders could be withdrawn once residents were safely up.

Wonderful image Nikolyn! The blue door really adds a lot to the scene--modern door meets ancient building techniques. L/F

Thanks so much, Mark. There are occasional red or pink doors at Taos, but mostly blue - works so well with the warm tones of the adobe and the earth and the beautiful New Mexico skies.
