Description
A digital impressionist painting of a male eastern bluebird perched on a bare branch in winter and staring directly at you as if to challenge you. This is a perfect card for bird art lovers. #bluebird #impressionist #art #notecard
It is a real treat to get to see an eastern bluebird and on the day I took the photo that I used to make this digital painting there was a whole gang of them that had come to pick clean the last of the poke berries that grow on our land before winter set in. I was trying to stay back and get shots with my zoom lens so I wouldn't scare them away when I noticed this guy staring me down as if he thought he could scare me away. They are beautiful, funny birds and truly a joy to watch and they stay in Oklahoma all year so if you put out feeders in the winter you have a good chance of seeing them, but poke berries seem to be one of their favorite foods.
This is a digital impressionist style rendering of a male eastern bluebird on the bare branch of a poke berry bush in late fall doing his best to stare down the viewer with his red chest puffed out and a look in his eyes as though he would try to scare you away if he could.

What an amazing photo Shelli! I like what you've done with it turning it into almost an oil painting! I have to honestly say that I've never seen a bluebird in person before. Next time I'm in Oklahoma I will be looking for them! LF
