This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
A beautiful little Common Buckeye Butterfly pauses for just a moment looking for sweet nectar in a Black Knight butterfly bush.
Back in 2010, I wrote:
"Buckeye butterflies are usually very common in my backyard garden. They vary from somewhat faint brown in color to rich browns and bits of orange on them. This couple stayed near each other the entire time I watched. There is something so peaceful about just sitting out in a sunny garden and watching butterflies!"
I wish I could say that Common Buckeye butterflies are still common in my yard. Sadly, I have to say I have not seen one since 2015. I cannot express how sad this makes me and I cannot explain why this is the case. People who don't pay attention, do not see the changes that are happening right in our very own yards, in our gardens, in our towns.....but things are changing, and it is not good. It is easy to pay folks to come spray our yards to kill pesky fleas and ticks, but we must remember poison...
