Description
Marquetry is the art of assembling pieces of wood veneer to form an image. In this symbol of east and west adapted from a drawing by Jack Beckwith, the buffalo is composed of ebony, walnut and avodire sapwood. The flower is ebony, walnut with a sap streak and burl. All are set in a harewood circle with a avodire background. The original measures 15 3/4" X 18" and is bonded to a 1/4" ground.
