Description
Bull advertising sign and wind turbines at sunset. This Spanish bull sign (known as an Osborne bull) was an advert for Osborne sherry. The roadside signs became iconic in Spain, and many were blacked out and retained (rather than demolished) when roadside advertising of alcoholic beverages was banned in 1994. The wind turbines form part of a wind farm. Wind turbines are used to generate electricity from the winds formed by the heating of the Earth by the Sun. They are an environmentally-friendly source of energy, as they release no toxic waste products and do not rely on a limited resource for fuel. Photographed in 2008, near La Muela in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. As of 2016, there were 371 wind turbines operating in the La Muela region.
