at the end of the summer
with the canoe
ready to leave the shore.
The clouds are parting
and the sun's rays glow
on the eastern horizon.
The lake is clean and clear,
small ripples
from the slight morning breeze.
The trees in the park glow
in the light of dawn,
the wood ribs
of the old canoe are golden.
The marsh grasses
surround the boat
and ripple and rock
the kayaks and canoes
on the lake...
This is Okeeheelee Park
in western Palm Beach County
full of beautiful lakes
in this tropical paradise.
The water is clear and clean,
reflecting the beautiful colors
of sunrise.
The park is wonderful,
full of running and cycling trails,
tennis courts, golf, baseball fields,
and picnic facilities.
