This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Funny story about this photo....This is the Gravensteen a castle In Ghent Belgium originating from the Middle Ages. It appears that it is in the middle of a field, or some giant estate. Actually, it is sitting right in the middle of the city and from where I am standing on a bridge there is a tram line running right behind me. The present castle was built in 1180 by count Philip of Alsace and was modeled after the crusaders castles that Philip of Alsace encountered while he participated in the second crusade. The castle served as the seat of the Counts of Flanders. The counts of Flanders had castles built in the principal cities of the county. Because they had to maintain law and order, they continuously had to move from one...
About Joan Carroll
Protected with PIXSY About Joan Carroll: I am a Fort Worth Texas-based outdoor photographer who feels at home while on the road...in Texas, in the US, around the world. Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
