This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

About Leo Bruce Hempell
I was born in Montreal in 1938 and from the age of two to sixteen years I lived in and around Banff Alberta, and the Kootenays, in western Canada. The Rocky Mountains were my playground and favorite subjects for my camera. Later I went to high school at Kitsilano, and to university at UBC, both in Vancouver BC. While at UBC in the 50s I had my own nightclub photo business at two venues in Vancouver's Chinatown, the Kublai Khan and WK Gardens. Weddings, home portraits, corporate and private events arising from club contacts provided additional income from my camera. While at university I was a photographer and editor for Slipstick, the UBC Engineers yearbook. While working summers, as a surveyor walking all over British Columbia, I shot...
