Description
This pastel is from a photo my husband took one fall in Glacier National Park in Montana. We were hiking on the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail and just as we came over a small hill, we saw this grizzly bear. only his head and shoulders appeared from behind a berry bush. He stopped eating and looked right at us. It was a scary and humbling experience and needless to say, we turned around and headed back down the trail. I still think of that bear, wandering those wild mountains, smelling the sweet berries and eating enough to carry him through the long, dark winter.

I so like how you are able with your artistry to place dots and small strokes of color that all come together to create an autumn background. I get a sense of where the bear is, and love how you use a similar technique with slightly different strokes to create the centerpiece, the bear. fav
