Description
The Chapel of the Holy Cross, constructed with special permission on Coconino National Forest land near Sedona, Arizona, seems almost to grow out of the beautiful red rock butte it was built into. Completed in 1956, the chapel's design was conceived by sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude but executed by architects from the firm of Anshen and Allen.

Beautiful capture and image Nikolyn. I have photographed this wonderful church multiple times on various visits to Sedona, and every time it looked more impressive that the previous. Don't know if you know this, but on my last visit earlier in May this year, access in close proximity to the church up this hill (seen in your image) has been denied through the installation of barb wire all around the perimeter (front and sides) and the gate to the main roadway leading up the hill to the church has been locked! Glad you're able to get this shot from the front without restricted access.

I was with local friends. They must have known that - this is as far as we went :)
