This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

Artist's Description

Sir Charles William Siemens, (1823-1883), English-German inventor, designer and engineer. As Karl Wilhelm Siemens he came to England from Germany in 1843 where he settled, changed his name to Charles William Siemens and became a naturalized citizen in 1859. His first UK factory produced submarine cables, landlines, electrical instruments and machines. The company, Siemens Brothers, laid the 7000-mile Indo-European telegraph link between London and Calcutta. In 1861, his patented regenerative principle for the conservation of waste heat was applied to open-hearth steel-making. This eventually replaced the Bessemer process. He designed the ship Faraday, which laid the transatlantic telegraph cable of 1874. In 1883 Siemens Brothers installed an early electric tramway at Portrush, Northern Ireland.
