I collect travel stamps for a hobby, but when I visited the Noah Webster House in West Hartford Connecticut there was no travel stamp available for my collection booklet so I came across this sticker on your fine website and it is now in my travel stamp booklet under my Noah Webster House visit. This picturesque and historic tobacco barn is over 100 years old and, since 1952, has been owned by the Clewis family in Chadbourn, NC. It was used to cure and prepare tobacco until 25 years ago. Now it is a relic of a colorful past and way of life that is quickly disappearing. What a delightful time I had attempting to capture the amazing scene of another era! A big thank you to Mr. Clewis for allowing me to record a part of his family's history, along with sharing some stories about his childhood and the hard work he participated in to prepare and cure the tobacco leaves.
Spring 2021 Award and Honors: I am pleased to say that two of my photos have been accepted into the 24th Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Spring Art Show taking place at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC. One of them, "Seeking the Sun," was chosen for an honorable mention! The other photo is called, "Coneflower Jumble." "Seeking the Sun" "Coneflower Jumble" Spring Shows: One of my ceramic vases was juried into the 22nd Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Show at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC, but the show was cancelled due to the 2020 Covid-19 Virus Pandemic.
