Description
This is a secluded beach on your left hand side when arriving to La Perouse, Sydney, Australia. I took the pic from Bare Island.
The surf is very calm due to the angle facing south the ocean and Botany Bay entrance which makes it ideal for snorkelling ! The problem is that is close to the airport so you will see planes, however it is very calm and relaxing beach with beautiful views and great walks and also you can have fun climbing rocks.
I can imagine this beach was used by Aboriginal people bec of its calmest , clear waters and easy to fish spot, but couldn't find any evidence of it except that the whole Botany bay had 2 tribes. Remember reading in Governor Phillips journals that Aborigines who used this area were murdering his men. So after some time he reluctantly made decision to send party to capture them. However when they arrive no one was there as they were already forewarn and scared. So the party return home without capturing anyone.
