Description
The capital of the State of Texas, Austin, has several interesting spots to photograph, and one of the them, of course, is its capitol. It was constructed during the years of 1882 through 1888, and it was initially planned to be built entirely with limestone from nearby quarries; due to its high iron content, however, it was found to quickly discolor and replaced with red granite from the Llano Uplift area of the Edwards Plateau, near Marble Falls, the same one Enchanted Rock is made of.
This is an alternate view of the north side of the Capitol. Image made while the windchill was at 33F. The Sun tried to break through the clouds but emanated no heat at all. Thank you so much for looking, and as usual, comments, faves, and shares are highly appreciated!
