I collect travel stamps for a hobby, but when I visited the Noah Webster House in West Hartford Connecticut there was no travel stamp available for my collection booklet so I came across this sticker on your fine website and it is now in my travel stamp booklet under my Noah Webster House visit. It was put to good and joyful use Thank You

Beautiful! Looks gorgeous!
These fast, agile fliers are - are you ready? - called anglewings because of the angles on their wing margins:>). The "Question Mark" is a close cousin and often confused with the Comma. The underside of their wings is patterned mainly in brown and is a perfect camouflage among dried leaves or against a tree truck.
This picture was taken on Cape Cod in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA, on May 20, 2012. There must have been a recent hatch as the butterflies were numerous and in mint condition.

I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....
