The print is much darker in person. It looks like an underexposed photo and hard to make out any detail on the bottom half of the print. Paper quality is good. Fast shipping.
Artist's Description
Commiseration for Anne-Elizabeth Whiteway's dog "Happy"
It takes a long, long time, the enormous constant missing, dearest Anne-Elizabeth. You will never forget, but gradually remembering can and WILL become even happiness, even sharing with friends! Every animal lover knows the experience, many of us several times. Just skim down this column every day! With my most recent pets death, I had learned to begin almost deliberately searching out and cherishing positive memories. Remember it takes a long, long time, the enormous constant missing, dearest Anne-Elizabeth. You will never forget. Remember how it has been with your father! Gradually, though, eventually, the sadness and grief and loneliness WILL become even happiness to remember, even sharing with friends (just everyone of us knows the experience; some of us several times). After my most recent kitty had worn out his precious body, I had learned to begin deliberately searching for positive and joyful memori...
About Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND
REACH BEYOND, my logo and general theme and goal, usually is the first painting on the left of the top row, or near there. Go ahead and click on it now to open it up for a much better look. And if you're interested, then just go on to more of the paintings. You can always come back and read what I wrote about me. But I seriously hope that these paintings present various facets of my perceptions of our world -- or wishes FOR it -- more vividly -- or at least differently -- than writing can. They mutely show what objects and situations I think merit attention and from what points of view I choose to present them and in what medium and style. I hope that perhaps some, or even a part of one, will touch and vibrate with some part of you,...

Thank you Bruce. This is very special, memorable and insightful. Your kind and inspirational words in your description have helped me go through the grieving process of the death of our sweet and much loved dog, Happy. Of course we will always miss her. It has been over a year since she died, but I think of her every day. The waggy tail, the snuggles, the unconditional love, petting her soft fur, her appreciation for our care for her, the way she'd like to look out the window & spot deer running through our yard and bark until we le her out to chase therm. I liked the way she would obey me when I trained her to sit, stay, come and "down". She slept in our big king size bed every night even up until she was weak and barely able to jump up on the bed (we would help her). The way her eyes stayed open when the doctor injected her to "put her to sleep". The way I could not believe she was gone. She had inoperable cancer but I feel as if I should have noticed something was wrong sooner, so I have guilt. I don't want to make my pain sound any worse than anyone else's who has lost a pet. I simply wanted to go back and think about her outloud. She was the sweetest, cutest Spaniel, even up to the very end. As many people know, a pet is like a family member.....or IS a famiy member. Thank you dear Bruce. Blessings to you always for your thoughtfulness and unselfishness. You have lightened my burden through your words and by allowing me to express myself here. .

Came to visit your amazing galleries dear Bruce and immediately was drawn (again) to this painting...one of my favorites of yours. The painting is superb...full of energy, movement, and gives me such a sense of the vitality and contrast of life, but your words...oh your words....how I needed to read those again today. Your words are an art unto themselves...art that reveals a wise and loving heart and soul, for which I am most grateful! v/f
