Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I so appreciate being able to have this old-fashioned outdoor dinner scene on a tote bag. It is adorable. Thank you for making it available.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

Quite beautiful!
A unique feature of the South of France is the UN Heritage Site.. the 'Canal du Midi'. Stretching from the Atlantic coast at Bordeaux.. It reaches the port of Sete on the Mediterranean Sea by moving across the gentle countryside of endless sunflower fields, vineyards and stoney villages.. Horses were used to transport goods by footpaths on either side of the hand-dug project. The city of Carcassonne itself is another UNESCO site just a kilometer away..
Laughable now, Carcassonne's city manager originally rejected the Canal! But nothing stopped Mr. Paul Riquet's determination.. as he began to circumnavigate the enormous obstacle ..someone who could 'think forwardly' changed the mind of the mayor.. So fortunately today, you too can take "the Slow Boat (or Barge)" across the south of France and view the beautiful sights at your leisure!

Bienvenue/Welcome! Thank you for visiting! Raised in California, I left for Paris at 21, with a 1-Way ticket & absolutely no plan... Working as an Au Pair, I fell in love with France. Then I fell in love with 'Jean'. We traveled & worked in a European theatre group..years before the kids arrived.. then, life got really busy. In 2001 we found our stone village house in the south of France, near Carcassonne. What will you find in my gallery here? .. A memory of your travels..? teaching tools for your students..? a gift for your favorite Francophile?..or perhaps.. fuel for your dreams! The 'Description' box near each photo will reveal some history, facts.. or a story. So Welcome! Bienvenue! ..and see the beauty of...

Ola PEDRO! Very kind of YOU to FEATURE this work on THE VINTAGE FLAVOURED Art Group websites front page today! I hope it does convey the wonderful sense of Peace one gets from slowly cruising the 'quiet' of this UNESCO HERITAGE Site in the south of France. The red & yellow flag is a local symbol of the CATHAR people who once lived in this region but were hunted & persecuted by church & state for their beliefs during the Middle Ages.. The remains of their many 'hill top & mountain hide-aways' are plentiful and amazing still, in this area. Thank you again.. Dona Dugay
