I spotted this "flock" of glass Flamingos at a local plant nursery here in Cedar City, UT and with some creative editing in Topaz Studio this is the end result.
Flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber) are large birds that are identifiable by their long necks, sticklike legs and pink or reddish feathers. Flamingos embody the saying "you are what you eat." The pink and reddish colors of a flamingo's feathers come from eating pigments found in algae and invertebrates. Baby flamingos will hatch in a mound nest made of mud near a lake or lagoon. Flamingos are monogamous and they produce one egg each year. Both mother and father keep the egg warm before it hatches. A few days after hatching both parents will start feeding their chick with a milk-like substance rich in fats and proteins.
Baby flamingos don't have a curved bill, it becomes curved after few months.
Flamingos live 20 to 30 years in the wild or up to 50 years in a zoo.
