Description
While taking a rest on a bench in front of the classic American Gothic at the Art Institute of Chicago, I spied this fellow on this phone. My angle gives the appearance that the farmer and his female companion are glaring at him, quite disapproving of his actions.
Interesting sidebar: Grant Wood used his own dentist as the model for the farmer, and his own sister as the model for the woman. He apparently wanted to use his mother but was afraid sitting for the portrait would have been too taxing on her.
