Description
By attaching ourselves to the ruach-of-life, we can overcome all bad traits. To take hold of the corners of the earth, that the wicked should be shaken off it (Job 38:13). The 4 tzitzit corners correspond to the holy ruach-of-life and the four tributaries. Through them, the wicked are shaken, corresponding to Mashpil Reshaim Adey Eretz (He casts down the wicked to the ground)- the first letters of this verse are mem- which relates to Mayim (water), resh- which relates to Ruach (wind), ayin- which relates to Afar (earth) and alef which relates to Esh (fire). For all bad traits stem from these 4 elements. (Likutei Moharan 8:80). The painting shows a man attaching himself to the tzitzit of the tzaddik in order to save himself from all bad traits for he also receives the ruach-of-life from the tzaddik, who is connected to the Torah, the source of this ruach-of-life (Likutei Moharan 8:5)
