Description
False Death Cap mushroom (Amanita citrina) growing in leaf litter. This mushroom - named because of its visual similarity to the poisonous Death Cap - is edible but unpleasant. Both it and the Death Cap reach about 10 centimetres across and have a growing season from summer into autumn. However the False Death Cap favours beech woodland whereas the Death Cap enjoys oak trees.
