Description
This is False Kiva in Utah.
False Kiva is a human-made stone circle of unknown origin in a cave in a remote area of the Canyonlands National Park. While located in a naturally occurring alcove, the name False Kiva arises from the uncertainty around the circle of stones' origins and purpose, whether it is really an authentic kiva, a location used for religious purposes.
However, it was 2 mile (one side) strenuous hike consisting of multiple ups and down with the max elevation of 512ft. There were atleast 4 or 5 spots where a mis-step could land you into the 100ft deep canyon. This spot is not on NPS map and hence there are no marked trails. I lost my way and hiked 1.5 mile more to make it just after the sun went down the horizon and could grab just couple series of Pano shots to bring it to you. Hiking back in dark ... was the rest of the thrill. Enjoy this view !
