Nature's spirals are both simple and stunningly beautiful. The fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio are repeated throughout nature. This artwork is loosely based on this ratio, not perfectly, but closely enough to recognize the natural curves and forms seen throughout nature. The single spiral becomes thinner as it closes onto itself, and the simple shading creates a nice composition. This is the first drawing in a series of drawings which will use the fibonacci sequence and golden ratio in their composition and individual elements.

I was born on August 12th, 1985, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Ever since I can recall, art, and music specifically, have had a special hold on my attention. I was lucky enough to have relatives in Finland, so I traveled a few times during my youth and more recently, and this has influenced me as a person and artist greatly. As a child I had an affinity towards mathematics, physics and numbers. I studied Industrial Engineering, and even though I always dreamed of becoming an artist, I never considered taking this path seriously until more recent years. I started playing piano about 8 years ago, and exploring photography, digital image manipulation, illustration, typography, and other forms of visual arts as means of self-expression. The...
