I was thrilled to discover your website and find that you were offering multiple products with the image of the Filben Maestro as my grandfather, William Filben, was the inventor. I will be framing this photo for my home and anticipate ordering many other items in the near future for my large extended family

When I saw this photo of my hero, I had to obtain it because as you can see in the photo, I have Babe Ruth when he was young & strong initially with the Yankees. I want to truly thank the artist for his photo!

Terrific concert photo of Madonna back in the '80s. I hope the owner of this series featured in Life Magazine will make more available. They are stunning.

Artist's Description
A popular activity at temples and shrines in Japan is to draw a prediction (omikuji) that can be either bad or good. At Senso-ji temple in Asakusa (Tokyo Japan) first pay 100 yen then shake a box full of sticks before drawing out a stick. The stick you draw has a number on it. You then go to the drawer with the corresponding number to pull out a small paper with your fortune. If you draw a positive fortune, you keep the paper as a reminder of your visit. If, however, you draw a negative fortune, you fold up the paper and tie it to a tree or line where the bad luck ones are collected. That way you leave behind bad luck and take only good luck with you. The temple priest prays for the bad luck to go away. Senso-ji’s omikuji adhere to the traditional method whereby 30% of the sticks correspond to bad fortunes. It is said that some temples have reduced the percentage of bad fortunes in order to increase the immediate happiness of the people drawing their fortunes.

About Joan Carroll
Protected with PIXSY About Joan Carroll: I am a Fort Worth Texas-based outdoor photographer who feels at home while on the road...in Texas, in the US, around the world. Although travel and photography were dual interests from a young age, the coming of the digital camera provided undreamed of opportunities and unleashed previously untapped creativity. My photographic goal is to travel the world in a curious yet respectful way, taking the time to see and understand the unique story of each place I visit. Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
