This is one of my favorite digital pieces that best illustrates how I grew up. Fractured by divorce at a young age, I was forced to survive in the burgeoning drug world if the 70’s. I was bullied on a daily basis at home and at school. There was no longer a father to say NO. My mother immediately started working in a bar, from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM, so at 13; I was left with no parental figure at all. I became isolated and withdrew into my creative mind. If I had not had my art bubble to hide in…I have no idea what would have become of me. I had never been to church, so Sunday school never touched me, so I had no solid rules at all; by the time I was of the age to do all forms of “badness”. So, I did. In the winter of 1977, it all came down to a drugged out/LSD/girl I didn’t even know, circumstance, and I was rightfully booted out by my mom. This is exactly when the healing began.
