Description
Watercolour and ink travel painting of people at the Friday morning market in Turre in Andalusia.
I painted this motif of a typical Friday morning in my town Turre in Andalusia for all those who dream to live under the sun of Spain. And there are many around the world, I know that!
Nothing is exaggerated on here, apart perhaps that the characters are a bit caricatural, but only slightly. This is indeed how our people in Turre look like, as well the English ex-pats living here (the ones sitting at the cafe and drinking big beer) as the two guys standing on the left and chatting, so typical Spanish! And everybody totally relaxed, as relax as it can go on this earth.
I am not sure though who was having the big glass of Cognac standing on the lower left corner. As I arrived and started sketching, it was empty, and the client was gone. Well, it was not me... so scary the idea of drinking that stuff at that time of the day (or for me at any time of the day, I don't like strong alcohol). But it is common here and is kind of part of the Spanish FUN so many people are dreaming of!
