Description
Trees now shade the old, abandoned Texaco station in Alanreed, Texas. In its hey-day the station served travelers passing through town on the legendary American Mother Road, Route 66. The station and the historic road faded when Interstate 40 replaced Route 66 through Texas, bypassing the small Panhandle town. The brick Texaco station, with its now silent pumps, offers a nostalgic glimpse into the history of Route 66.
