Baby skunks smelling flowers. A litter of skunks usually consists of 4-6 little stinkers and can spray after they are two weeks old. The babies are cute and adorable at about 15 feet away.One of the good deeds skunks perform is eating honeybee and yellow jackets ,Skunks dig up the nests and eat them. They also eat some wild fruits, insects,mice,bird eggs. However before spraying, a skunk will do a handstand on its front feet and aim its tail while staring at its attacker. They will stomp, hiss and puff up their fur, much like an angry cat to serve as a warning, and only unleash their smelly spray as a last resort. Skunk spray causes no real damage to its victims, but it sure makes them uncomfortable. It can linger for many days and defy attempts to remove it. As a defensive technique, the spray is very effective. Predators typically give skunks a wide berth unless little other food is available.
