Description
Flower cultivation. Transvaal daisies, Gerbera jamesonii, being harvested in a vast commercial glasshouse. Growing flowers in glasshouses allows for careful control of conditions. Protection from weather and pests, and optimum light intensity, temperature and moisture levels can be maintained. Use of glasshouses can also prevent pesticides and fertilisers from polluting the environment. Photographed in Holland.
