Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

There was something fitting about the way this old Ford pickup truck was in no rush to go anywhere under star trails that require patience to see. This nightscape image was captured near the old ghost town of Animas Forks near Silverton, Colorado.
How I Got The Shot
I used two exposures to help make this scene come to life. I shot one long-exposure focused on the stars and another shorter exposure focused on the truck - so I could get them both appearing with sharp details. At least as important as the focus stacking however, was the light painting. I included a small tea-light to illuminate the inside of the truck as well as a light panel off to the left side to illuminate the outside of the truck - a combination I thought was very important for the vision I had in-mind.
