Description
DAY 78. LISA’s 100 Day Painting Challenge
This original, brush activated watercolour pencil painting of eggshells in an egg carton was inspired by several things today: -1. the metaphor that to make a good omelette, one must break a few eggs; -2. my memory of reading the famed chef, Julia Child bought dozens of eggs and kept breaking and practicing to make the PERFECT French omelette; - 3. The awareness that the closer I get to the challenge finish, the more I am challenging myself in my entries. Then again, that has ALWAYS been my motivation as far back as I can remember...to pursue beauty, elegance, to chase Light, Dreams, Love...and to Love the process.. And, so it is. I think eggshells, like teacups are SO beautiful in their delicate translucency.
Lessons learned today...140 lb. rough ...down to leftover paper...is so NOT 300 lb. paper and if I were to seriously attempt this again, I would be choosing 300 lb., hot press smooth. I am learning to accept the imperfections and embrace the timing...only two hours instead of two days...or two weeks. I have learned much from this study.

Dear Conni, you know me ...I always try to share...The Flow...there is so much MORE to be had in the experience of the Process than in the end result. ...spoiler alert...for today’s challenge, I am drawn back to my tangle...it appears THAT is the random chaos of Beauty I am most at home within and it IS MY DEFAULT aesthetic comfort zone. This challenge is such a gift. It will hopefully make me ready for my next personal challenge that I am ever grateful in advance to you for kindly agreeing to champion me ...thru... later this year. Thank you SO much. So much to eagerly anticipate this year.

Laurel what a great piece! I love when a piece is so pretty as an abstract and then becomes more as in this case eggs!
