Fine art wildlife photograph capturing a serene pair of Great Blue Herons (Ardea Herodias) perched side-by-side on a willow branch beside their nest. Nesting season has just begun for these beautiful herons and they need to defend their nesting site from the double-crested cormorants who have taken over the rookery. This rookery was once the exclusive nesting site of many herons but over the years, cormorants have driven them off so only a few hardy herons remain.
