This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

About Doug McPherson
From My Eyes to Yours - I try to capture the beauty of nature as I see it. I am primarily a landscape and wildlife photographer specializing in the Southeastern United States. My home in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina makes Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway and hundreds of area waterfalls favorite subjects. I love spending as much time in nature as I am able and attempt through my photography to capture each scene in a way that does it justice. Earth, despite man's best efforts to tame still has many wild and beautiful places. It is in these places that I feel the most alive and find the greatest beauty. I...

I feel the same way ā¦especially when I see New York images I think of how it was when it was pristine and left unmolested I love how Native Americans lived in harmony with their surroundings
Doug McPherson replied:
It is easy for me to image a pristine world devoid of pollution, logging and raping of resources where everything is in it's natural order. it's a shame humans are so greedy and view everything as a resource rather than respecting it.

My grandmother was 5 when she was taken to hide in these mts to avoid the Trail Of Tears march to Oklahoma,,, I often think of the shelter these beautiful mts gave them with gratitude ,This and your other photos are wonderful
Doug McPherson replied:
I have been blessed to call the Appalachians home and blessed to have lived here in the Smokies the past 25 years. I often hike these hills and being a bit of a history buff, I canāt help but imagine the shelter these mountains gave but more, what they looked like prior to the first timber hungry immigrants.
