The print is much darker in person. It looks like an underexposed photo and hard to make out any detail on the bottom half of the print. Paper quality is good. Fast shipping.
Artist's Description
The Great Wall of China and the Moon, Asbjorn Lonvig
Inspired by The Great Wall of China and the Moon.
The Great Wall of China certainly isn't visible from the Moon.
It's a legend. Alan Bean, Apollo 12 astronaut: The only thing you can see from the moon is a beautiful sphere, mostly white (clouds),
some blue (ocean), patches of yellow (deserts), and every once in a while some green vegetation.
No man-made object is visible on this scale.
In fact, when first leaving earth's orbit and only a few thousand miles away, no man-made object is visible at that point either."
The Great Wall of China was built over 2,200 years ago,
by the first emperor of China. In Chinese the wall is called "Wan-Li Qang-Qeng"
which means 10,000-Li Long Wall - 10,000 Li is about 5,000 km - that's 3100 miles.
