This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

Artist's Description

Green and black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus). This frog is found in Central America and north-western parts of South America. Its colouration indicates its skin toxicity, deterring predators. Various native South American peoples use the skin poison of dendrobatid frogs for the tips of their arrows. The poison contains a neurotoxin which can paralyse a bird or a small mammal almost immediately. The toxicity of this frog is due to alkaloids in its diet of ants. In captivity, this frog is harmless as it does not eat the necessary ants. This is a captive-bred frog.
