FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
In January, on an extremely cold day with the temperture at a brisk fifteen degrees I came upon this park called Manhassett Park located in Manhassett, New York on the north shore of Long Island. My intentions were to get some beautiful scenery shots of the snow and I had heard they had some interesting wooden bridges so I thought I would get some shots of the bridges covered in snow over the frozen stream. Much to my delight when I got to the park I found it covered with Mallards and Canadian Geese looking for food or flying away. I was able to get some great shots of the mallards and geese in flight and some sitting in a very regal pose on the ice and snow. BUT this shot was one of the most interesting as I was walking over a bridge I saw this mallard walking to a small hole in the water, not thinking much of it I followed him to see if I could get a shot of him walking on the ice when all of a sudden he stuck his head in the frozen stream where the small hole was and appeared as if he could not get out as I believe he either felt the coldness of the water or panicked when he went to get out and kept smashing into the ice. After I took this shot he was able to free himself and move onto more solid ground, but looking back on this shot it makes me smile at the position the mallard is in and knowing he got out alright
