Its circular shape and the use of galleries and alcoves were the inspiration of the first Parliamentary Librarian, Alpheus Todd.

I have seen this fantastic building in other photos. It is so fabulous with all the amazing architectural details!! v/f ............................. We surely don't build like this anymore, such a shame. I am glad that this is so well maintained.. We have a town near us here, Cairo Ill. Almost all of the Historical downtown area is deserted and left to just fall apart like a ghost town. One can see the beautiful architecture that is was in it's prime. So sad,
