I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

In this painting I wanted to paint the old saying that everyone has baggage. whether we carry it around or finally let it go. Addictions destroy the soul. Tear lives apart, creates yet other addictions. For some there is no way out except suicide. It is tragic. Yet for some they drop the baggage and get the support and help they need. It takes courage to become your authentic self, the reward is freedom.
About Carolyn LeGrand
With color and symbolism I paint personal issues, human issues. Transformation, enlightenment, pain, pleasure, life and death. I strive to portray the courage and growth it takes to move through the obstacles and triumphs of living on this earth. I started to paint at a very early age and found a way to express myself. My artwork is Expressionism. This is the way I have always communicated what is deeply personal to me. I reside in Oregon, on the coast. A beautiful place to communicate with nature, walk the beaches and be one with the Universe.
