The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Woodland Dike, an 11 x 14 Oil on Masonite painted late summer 2007. An artist is alwayson the lookout for something that might catch his of her attention, thus sparking the idea for a new painting. To my minds eye, in this instance, it was the tree in the foreground that was just beginning to turn Fall orange from the top down. My memory for a fleeting instant recalled a painting by George Inness entitled Hackensack Meadows where a similar tree placement may have been the impetus for his painting. It is amazing how the oil painting Masters of old manage to hold us hostage to their work. The color in this painting is especially strong, maybe even brassy to some of you. If you are wondering - the small vertical white strokes in the lower right hand portion of the painting are irrigation pipe stub ups. Jim admits to spending numerous hours at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a youngster.
