A totally adequate purchase - nothing outstanding, nothing problematic. Since the original was one of your stock images, I cannot speak to whether this was a clear image, besides which the original was a watercolor, so clarity is not essential to the success of the image. I predict that a larger image would lack clarity. But I'm generally satisfied.

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!
Artist's Description
Painted with oils on canvas, this is a work that my Pop did for me . Using a photo I had taken when we lived in Newport News, VA (across the James) I commissioned him to do this for me.
It looked exactly like this on that evening as I stood by the James River. The sun is setting in the West which is the sun's routine :-)
I like the balance & compostion of this. I will not sell the original but will consider having archival copies made.

Thank you so much, Anne-Elizabeth, for your comments regarding "my pink" thing!!! Had way too much paint and wracked my brain as to where to use it all. Talk about trying to be economic. I particulary love this work. It has a wonderful atmospheric quality to it and I grew up on the water in Savannah, Ga. of which it reminds me. But, this almost seems to be a New England coastline. Dear Art Friends, My Dad did this oil painting. All I did was take the photograph and have it enlarged for him to see. He was about 85 years old at the time. Dear Art Friends, My Dad painted this when he was 85 yrs. old. I simply took the photo. I appreciate all your positive comments.
