Formally titled "The Swamp of King Ludd".
An allegory. In this artwork, the Knight, Sir Liberalis, slogs his way through the dark morass of King Ludd's haunted swamp. Ghostly hands rise from the murky water trying to drag down the brave warrior and forever end his quest. Meanwhile, in the darkness beyond, the goblin King Ludd watches as his minions make their attach. This image is part of my knightly art series and was made in February of 2011.
Daniel is a classically trained artist. A native of the East Cobb community in the Atlanta Metro area, he majored in art at the University of Georgia and has since accumulated over 25 years of art experience. Most well-known for his scientific illustrations of prehistoric creatures, he is also accomplished in creating Wild West art, fantasy art, wildlife scenes, and horror illustrations. His works have appeared in magazines and newspapers; the covers of books, albums, and products; and even in a few science and natural history museums.
