The past few days the largest bumble bees I have seen all season have been showing up. One even pushed me back away from the flower bush and he was very rude about it too. He kept coming at me until I was a distance away and then finally went back to his work. I learned a lesson, apparently male bees are similar to human males and do not like to be crowded when working. :) In fact this is the bee that forced me back. But I didn't give up until I got his portrait even if it was from behind. You can see he is covered with thick pollen and his wings are clear, you can see him clearly all but his head and trust me I was not going to push the issue with this opinionated bumble bee. He showed me who was boss in no uncertain terms. Remember the phrase You can't fool Mother Nature, well you also can mess with her bees when they are working.
