Description
A large longitudinal and parabolic dune field with deflation hollows in the foreground capped by dune/desert plants some of which are flowering--it is late summer early fall. Note the lengthening shadows of late afternoon because it was near sunset time and the pinkish-reddish color of the sand really stands out--as the source of the sand from wind erosion are the Vermilion Cliffs nearby--a type of sandstone.
