Ludovic Lepic Holding His Dog, 1889 (pastel), Degas, Edgar (1834-1917) / © Bridgeman Images. The artist Count Ludovic Lepic (1839-89) his expression weary and wistful, his eyes suggest suffering. About a month later, Degas's childhood friend died aged 50.
