Physiotherapist assisting a young man suffering from paralysis in all four limbs (tetraplegia), the result of a broken neck. She is helping her patient to balance in a supported long sit position" - a physiotherapy term for sitting up straight. The young man's neck was broken in the sixth cervical vertebra (C6) and he has limited control of his shoulders and arms. Tetraplegics have to re-learn how to balance themselves in situations such as the "long sit position"."
