Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").
Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Super happy how print came out, but looks a little less vibrant even after just a cool water quick wash. Still nice looking, but would have preferred the vibrancy to have remained.

The characters read from top to bottom, "Medicine Teacher." It's referring to the Medicine Buddha, which is what the image below is depicting. The jar in the left hand of the Buddha contains medicine. The Buddha's right hand is in the mudra which is said to grant the wishes or vows of anyone who comes to him. Medicine Buddha's skin is often depicted as blue. This is the color of lapis lazuli, a jewel said to have healing properties.
In contrast to Amida Buddha who resides in the Western Pure Land and saves those who call on him at the end of their life, Medicine Buddha resides in in the Eastern Pure Land and grants wishes for healing in this life.
Eric Daishin McCabe was first inspired to write Zen Calligraphy when he saw a demonstration by a Japanese Rinzai Zen Master, Fukushima Keido Roshi, at Bucknell University in 1993. His first teacher of calligraphy is Mariko Tachihara, a Japanese teacher of English, whom he met while teaching English in Kakogawa, Japan in 1995. Since then he has had the opportunity to study with several calligraphers including Nonin Chowaney of the Nebraska Zen Center and Kaz Tanahashi. Daishin is a Zen priest. His name means "Great Faith", and it was given to him when he received the Buddhist precepts. He goes by both "Daishin" and "Eric" depending on who is asking.
