Description
Meltwater flowing into the flat wetland valley forms its own creeks and streams. Eventually the rivulets join and become larger bodies of water. At this junction, an errant stream channels water into the far end of Bow Lake. This valley supports many of the large animals associated with the Rocky Mountains . . . grizzly and black bear, deer, wolves, and a host of smaller mammals and birds. The giant boulder visible in the forest across the water, once perched high on the mountain above the lake before gravity relocated it to the valley floor below Crowfoot Glacier near the source of the Bow River.
