"Morning Glory, No. 2" is an original watercolor 18" X 24" on 140-pound Arches cold press paper using American Journey and Davinci paints. The painting is an expressive exploration of the glorious effects of the morning sun on the Texas Hill Country where I live and paint.
Virgil Carter, BWS, PWS, PWCS, TWS, is a watercolor painter, teacher, demonstrator, workshop leader, author and Internet commentator. He paints primarily in watercolor, both en plein aire and from his studio in Boerne, TX. Primarily a representational painter, Virgil paints a variety of subjects, but enjoys most painting landscapes and town/urban subjects. He is concerned with telling stories in paint which share a personal idea, emotion or feeling about each subject. Color and light figure strongly in all of his work.
