I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Great canvas and framing. A decent shipping time, and EXCEPTIONAL safe packaging. Just an appropriate image for my viewing/listening room. Just took the speaker grills off for this photo.
Artist's Description
I have visited the Grand Canyon on several occasions and in October 2006 hiked down the South Kaibab trail and back up Bright Angel trail, a distance of about 17 miles. As I left Yapi Point just after sun-up, it was well below freezing and there was a thin strip of sunlight along the north rim. The light quickly spread down the cliffs, and by the time I had descended a couple of hundred feet, the light was already penetrating deeper into the canyon. I was suddenly presented with this amazing view, which I have captured on camera.
I took numerous photographs but this scene is certainly one of the most dramatic, mainly due to the wonderful lighting. If you look closely, you can see the South Kaibab Trail snaking down to and around O'Neil's Butte, which is the focal point of this painting. It took me about 6 hours to complete the hike but it was an exhilarating experience that I will never forget.
This painting was featured in International Artist Magazine's June/July...
About Richard Harpum
Award-winning artist, Richard Harpum, paints in a realist style, paying meticulous attention to detail. The effective use of light is a key ingredient to all of Richard’s works and he spends a great deal of time before starting a painting in selecting a composition that provides both drama and contrast. Born in Bromley, England, in 1951, Richard has had a passion for drawing and painting from a very young age. As a youngster, he was always drawing and became a prolific painter after he received an...
